Thermoplastic extrusion is a common plastics processing technique, used to create a continuous profile. Common parts include sheet for thermoforming, cable jacketing, and pipes. Extrusion involves continuously feeding material into the barrel of the extruder, where it is heated and pushed through a die to create a profile shape. The extrudate can then be cut or undergo further post-production to finalise the product.
